Eliminate dampness in it’s tracks!
Reverse the cycle of mould, humidity & heat built up while you protect your families health as well as your home.
Moisture and evaporation are a part of nature's cycle, as wind disperses dampness and moisture. Dwellings that are built on the ground can lock in moisture and dampness in the sub-floor, causing that moisture to rise into the living areas of the dwelling. Moisture from rain and stormwater run off also enters the sub-floor, dampening the soil.
This would normally dry out with the ventilation installed during the construction of the dwelling, but over time this ventilation becomes less effective. This can be caused by vents being installed too close to ground level, blocked or sealed up by:
- dwelling additions,
- concrete paths,
- vegetation,
- sealing for rodents etc.
- poor ventilation design at the time of construction.
When humidity in the sub-floor becomes elevated and mixes with organic substances such as mycelium or fungus, it creates a pungent odour which will enter the living areas of the dwelling. This in turn leads to mould growth if left untreated.
Once this process starts, you and your family will be at risk of allergic reactions, infections or even toxic responses.
Symptoms include eye irritation, respiratory problems (like wheezing, coughing or difficulty breathing), skin irritation, headaches, fatigue, aching joints, vomiting, nose or throat irritations and nasal sinus congestion.
If you suffer from a pre-existing condition, such as asthma or bronchitis, your condition will only get worse. Our Sub-Floor Ventilation systems are design to improve air quality and extract the entrapped humidity in the sub-floor. Damp Sub-Floors are also high risk for termite attack.
